What we do
Help Me Live Abroad is the product of two American-born emigrants with a combined 17 years living abroad in five countries.
Our goal is to help US passport holders explore their international relocation options and create a clear, achievable plan to move abroad.
Who we are
Lisa Bernardi
Cofounder / International relocation expert
Lisa took her first solo international trip at the age of 18 and never looked back. As of 2026, she has traveled through 37 countries and lived in Spain, France, and Costa Rica.
After an early career in television, Lisa pivoted to become a successful tech and finance writer. Her work has appeared in CNN, Forbes, TIME, HuffPost, and many other publications.
Lisa holds a BA in Global Communications and an MSc in International Business, both from international universities. She began Help Me Live Abroad in 2024 with the mission of helping others pursue their own dream lives abroad.
Emilia Wilson
Cofounder / International relocation expert
Originally from Connecticut, Emilia fell in love with life abroad after relocating from New York City to Paris for her MBA. She later moved to Switzerland before ultimately settling in Italy.
Prior to cofounding Help Me Live Abroad, Emilia led a fruitful career in strategy and innovation for global luxury brands. Her work with entrepreneurs and creatives around the world ultimately inspired her to pursue a new venture of her own.
Emilia’s love of kitesurfing and exploring new cultures has led her to visit nearly 30 countries. She is fluent in French and currently learning Italian.
